Introduction

Material Composition
- Body Material: Generally, medical-grade plastic materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene (PE) are used. PVC material urine bags have relatively high transparency, facilitating the observation of the color, volume, etc. of urine; PE material is relatively softer and has a better tactile feel.
- Connection Part Material: The interfaces connected to the urinary catheters are usually made of medical plastics and are designed to fit closely with the urinary catheters to prevent urine leakage. Some products have anti-disengagement devices at the interfaces, such as elastic buckles or screw interfaces, ensuring that the urine bags are firmly connected to the urinary catheters during use.
- Hanging Device Material (if any): Some drainage bags are equipped with hanging devices, such as hooks or ropes, which are used to hang the urine bags beside the bed or on the patient’s body. These hanging devices are generally made of materials such as plastics or nylon and have sufficient strength to support the urine collection bags filled with urine.

(I) Anti-reflux Function
- Medical Anti-reflux Drainage Bags: Adopt special valve or pipeline designs to achieve anti-reflux. For example, some drainage bags are equipped with one-way valves inside. Urine can only flow from the urinary catheter into the urine collection bag and cannot flow in the reverse direction. This design is based on the principle of fluid mechanics. Others use the special curved shapes or internal structures of the pipelines to make urine flow in only one direction, thus achieving the purpose of anti-reflux.

- Clear Capacity Marking: All three types of urine bags have obvious capacity scale markings, making it convenient for medical staff or patients to intuitively understand the amount of urine collected. The scales are usually in milliliters (ml), ranging from dozens of milliliters to several liters, which can meet the needs of different patients and different drainage scenarios.
- High Transparency: The high transparency of the bag body helps to observe the properties of urine. Medical staff can preliminarily judge the patient’s physical condition, such as whether there is hematuria, proteinuria, or urinary system infection, by observing the color of urine, whether there are precipitates or flocculent substances, etc.

They can be discarded directly after use, avoiding the cross-infection that may occur during the cleaning and disinfection processes.
