- Good Translucency: Medical fixation splint is X-ray permeable, allowing clear observation of the healing of the fractured part without removing the splint.
- High Strength and Light Weight: Medical fixation splints are lighter than ordinary plaster splints.
- Three-layer Material Design: Medical fixation splint is made by coating polymer glue on glass fiber to form a single-layer polyester fiber fabric, providing a comfortable wearing experience.
Operation and Usage Methods
- Select an appropriate splint. Use cotton grease and cotton sleeves as padding on the fixing part, put on gloves, and choose a splint of an appropriate specification according to different parts.
- Soak the splint in normal temperature water. After opening the package, put the splint into normal temperature water, soak it for 5 – 6 seconds and squeeze it 2 – 3 times.
- Squeeze out the excess water. Take out the splint and use your hands or a dry towel to roll the splint to remove the excess water.
- Mold the splint. The two sides of the splint are made of non-woven fabric. Place the thicker side against the skin and mold the splint according to actual needs.
- Fix the splint. Cover the part that needs to be fixed with the splint and then wrap it with ordinary gauze bandage or elastic bandage. The tightness of the bandage should be moderate.
- Control the operation time. The operation should be completed within 3 – 5 minutes. It starts to harden about 10 minutes later, fully cures after 20 minutes, and can bear weight after 30 minutes.
Friendly Tips
- During the molding process, the product may generate heat. This is because the product is hardening. Generally, the human body can tolerate this temperature. The hardening time won’t be long, and the temperature will drop in about 3 – 5 minutes.
- The operation time is generally controlled within 3 – 5 minutes. If the soaking or operation time is prolonged, it will affect the molding effect. Within 10 minutes before the product is fully hardened, the affected part should not be moved randomly.
- It is recommended to operate under the guidance of professionals. Non-professionals are not advised to operate it.
